What We Believe
Superhuman effort isn't worth a damn
unless it achieves results.
- Ernest Shackleton
on fundamentals
We believe in integrity. In honour we trust. By building excellence we maintain our passion. And in truthfulness we believe the future will always be bright. Villages? Yep. It takes them to help one another, hold hands, and make it through, make it right, make it best. Sound old-school? Absolutely. We passionately respect the past so we build an even greater future.
on leadership
It may seem safer and easier to follow others' success. Investors often like to see a proven path (it's one of the ironies all too familiar to entrepreneurs). But in the long run it puts you at risk. Think about it. Step forward. Stand out. Believe. Be tenacious about punching holes in it. And then stand tall, be clear, say what you mean and mean what you say.
On finding the right answer
Coming to the right conclusion is seventy percent common sense, twenty percent reasoning and ten percent instinct. If your head is squarely on your shoulders you should be able to logically determine a range of valid and acceptable solutions. Then you throw away the rule books and go with your gut.
on quality
William A. Foster said it best:
"Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”
On Communications
Communications implies a dialogue, a visual or verbal meeting of the minds from which an understanding arises. Done well, it will lead to a desired action. So why does it seem like more and more businesses are just talking to themselves?
On Questions
It doesn't matter how well you develop a product or a service if you haven't asked the right questions. But the most important question we ask ourselves is this: What must we do to make a difference?
